We are a research and consulting firm offering unparalled services in Sierra Leone and throughout Africa.

Our core sectors of expertise are public policy and economics, taxation, decentralization, and the adminstration of household surveys.

The Centre for Economic Research and Capacity Building (CERCB) is an independent research firm based in Freetown, Sierra Leone that provides non-partisan research on the design of state and local fiscal and economic policy, including both tax and expenditure issues. The core objective of the CERCB is to promote the development of evidence-based public policy, to contribute to public understanding of issues concerning central and local governance, and to enhance knowledge for institutional capacity building.

The CERCB was formally established in 2012 to fill a critical unmet need resulting from the paucity of robust empirical research and capacity building training services that affects the quality of human resources and public policy design and implementation at the local and central government levels in post-conflict settings across Africa.

Since its inception, it has worked closely with national governments, international organizations, and policy-based research organizations on fiscal policy issues and project evaluations. The Centre's skills in research and the production of high quality reports are held in the highest regard internationally and nationally. CERCB operates a progressive policy of setting high quality standards and ensuring performance that is both economic and efficient.
